Week 1: Fish Tank

I thought I knew what Culinary School would be like. I thought it would be so different then what it is in a good way. After my 1st week there, my original thoughts of Culinary school were basically  daises and butterflies in a perfect little world. This school is tough. I mean tough. This is a school who takes people and this career seriously. Homework every night, in depth classes and through knowledge of every topic. I have never had as much homework as I do here. But, I actually enjoy homework and studying. Maybe its because I know that this is something that I really want and want to be the best.

So this week, my brain has been crammed with information, but so much applies to real life so it makes it easier. We received our took kits and books and that was super exciting!

I am starting to see some groups form within the class and some people who are doing their work and some who are not. We literally do something different  every day. So, it does not get boring what so ever.

We have had 2 people already cut themselves the first day we got to use our knifes. That was pretty funny.

I have made 2 friends so far who I sit with everyday. There names are Hensel and Valarie*** (names have been changed). They are super super sweet and I think they will last for the long haul.

I meet with my career counselor on Monday to discuss my career plans. I think I want to work on a cruise ship or something fun. I do not want to work just in a cake shop or a cupcake bakery. I want to fully explore everything in the baking world.

Thursday, we had student appreciation day. I can always take a student appreciation day! We got to sample 4 sandwiches and 2 salads. They were beyond good. Like melt in the mouth awesome.

One day chef was making a cake for some competion he was doing and we got to sample it. Green Tea cake. Pretty much the best thing ever. I cannot wait to eat so much more here.

Super excited to see what this next week brings!!! :))
